Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct standardized testing to ABE/HSE/ELA students by performing intake, assessments, and class placement during peak enrollment times (In-person and remotely). Assist in maintaining an optimal testing environment that adheres to Illinois Community College Board standards.
Administers placements tests (CASAS, TABE) for ELA/ABE/HSE programs. May administer other specialized testing (EBRI) upon additional certification.Explain specific test requirements such as procedures for two-part tests, availability of calculators or other tools and print options.Advises students on class placement, retesting procedures, and other educational opportunities within the college. Accountable for all testing materials, attendance reports, student exams and registrations. Assists with various administrative tasks include calling students, responding to messages, organizing testing materials, setting up testing rooms, and sending mailings.Be prepared to answer faculty and student questions regarding testing policies and procedures.Requires travel to College of DuPage testing centers and additional site locations to administer testing throughout the Community College District 502. Resolve misunderstandings using appropriate customer service and management techniques.Verifies student eligibility requirements as it meets with state and federal grant requirements.Understand and follow FERPA privacy guidelines to assure confidentiality.Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Education
- High School diploma or GED certificate required.
- Experience
- Six (6) months customer service experience required.
- Prior experience working in a testing center and/or as an instructional aide preferred.
Working Conditions: Computer, copy machine, printer, testing scanner, FAX and scoring hardware.Fast-paced and detailed customer service environment.Flexible schedule.Substitute for co-workers as needed.This position requires a Background Check at the expense of the College.
Part-Time Work Schedule: Mornings 8:30am - 1p.m. or Evening 5:30p.m. to 10 p.m.
*Hours may vary depending on need - may include Saturday mornings* Hiring Range: Starting pay begins at $20.14/hr. based on experience.
